Last night I was at the range to try my new Robarms XCR-L and something strange happen.5 rounds of my reload stuck in the chamber and was realy hard to eject by hand. The rounds seems to feed in the chamber but the firepin can't punch the primer. We try different gas option and we found the 3 was the best choice.

1-May I have more explanation about the gas port posisition that help me ti figure it out.

2- Why my brass is damage like that.

Thank you!

The gas port regulates the amount of gas used to drive the op-rod which in turn cycles the bolt.
The higher the number the more gas and subsequently the more force is exerted on the bolt.
Did this just happen on just reloads or factory ammo as well?
Was the brass previously fired in another rifle?
Was the brass neck sized or full length?

The reason the firing pin can't hit the primer is likely because the bolt isn't fully locking because the round isn't fully seating in the chamber.

You said it is your NEW XCR? Robinson arms recommends gas setting 4 (maximum gas) for the first 300 rounds. I would also recommend that you use a fair bit of lubricant on the bolt and carrier during this time as well.

I have around 500 rounds through my XCR and it runs great.

Good luck

Thank You for your help!

The manuel said to reduce the amount of gas if we feel trigger slap and this is what ive donne. This is probably the reason why the rifle start to run bad so for the next 200-300 round il will let it on 4.

The brass that I used are once fired and I use full lengh die to make my relaod.

My feeling is the gun need to be broke a bit.

I cant compare the xcr with my core15 because its not an AR at all...But for what it is, I realy love it!

With my relaod we expect to get a 1-MOA gun...That's the good news.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying..... you say you've reduced your gas setting, but #4 is the highest setting.

Anyway, if it is new, you ought to be running it on 4 for the first 2-300 rounds with lots of oil as others have noted. Once the break in period is complete, the moving parts will have polished each other and it should run fine on #1 or #2 with most ammo types. Mine runs fine on #1 with AE 55gr.

so what does this trigger slap feel like anyways?

Mine runs on #1 with AE 62gr with no problems (in fact I think I may even try the "S" setting next time out just to see what happens).

If you set too high on the gas setting the trigger will "slap" by pushing your finger forward again after you shoot a round. You may also see more recoil (I was getting more recoil on #3 for sure).

However during the break-in your going to have to suck it up as everyone above has mentioned.

Pull the barrel out and slide a reloaded cartridge into the chamber. You should be able to see if it completely chambers and you should be able to pull it out fairly easily. My reloads wouldn't completely chamber even after they were fully resized. My reloads didn't work until I bought a set of full resize SMALL BASE dies. Now my reloads slide in and out of the chamber just like factory loads and work great.

take your finger, flick your other pointer finger against it where the trigger would rest. Not to hard, just like you were spinning a coin in a game of quarters.

it's not terrible, but gets annoying during the break in on gas setting 4
