Hi All,

Thought I'd post a little gun-#### as the weather gets cold and the festive season approaches. The rifle arrived several months ago, but I'm just getting to the pics now.

Specs:
  • Robertson Composite 'BC1' Stock (2 Color Fade, Granite Effect, Textured Grip, Fore-rail and Trigger Guard)
  • Barnard 'Model P' Action (w/ Barnard Trigger)
  • Tru-Flite Barrel Chambered in .308 Win (31', Palma Contour, 1:13 Spin, Palma 95 Chamber)
  • RCI Bedding Job (Immaculate)
  • 3-Way Adjustable Butt by RCI
  • Magnetic/Adjustable Cheek Piece by RCI
  • IOR Optics (6-24x56 Used for shooting groups)
  • Central Rear Sight w/ Gehmann Iris
  • Tiger-Eye Front Sight

Load:
  • Lapua .308 Winchester Brass
  • Lapua Scenar 155gr Bullets
  • Vihtavuori N150 Powder
  • Federal Primers (large rifle)

Lastly, a couple of groups... The first is my best group so far: 0.244 MOA

For anyone that might see this and wonder if their gun will ever shoot "such-and-such" a group size... here is a group from the same day, same weather conditions, same shooter, same equipment -- the only difference was the amount of powder used. Just goes to show, if at first you don't succeed -- try something else.

Ah yes... forgot the caliber info -- will update the original post as well, but it's chambered for .308 Winchester with the Palma95 chamber.

Additionally, I'm using Lapua Brass and Bullets (155gr), Federal 'Large Rifle' primers and Vihtavuori N150 powder (45.7gr).
 
People will be laughing behind your back at the range if you don't have a 30mm Right Sight. Tiger sights went out of style about 2 years ago:p

On the serious side, very nice looking rifle. Will be we able to see it in action in Ottawa this summer?
 
hahaha, you're quite right Maynard... a 30mm front sight will be one of the next additions to the kit -- the very next purchase being a better spotting scope, my $60 Crappy Tire special just doesn't look right sitting next to this piece of art.

As for Ottawa, I'm not sure that I will be posting scores quite that good this year, but it's certainly an end-goal... maybe two years time? haha, I guess we'll see.

You will learn more in 10 days at Ottawa than you can shake a stick at. Just go and shoot the best shots you can and have fun. 4 ranges a day, lots of team matches and extra matches you can enter, bring lots of ammo.
 
It's funny that the Brits were the ones laughing at the30mm users(politely)
when here in NS, while trouncing even FClass shooters with 18-22mm front sights.

And Mat has exceptional vision, unlike many of us old farts. If going 30mm, Goliath is worthwhile takeing a "look" at.

Matt congrats on a very nice looking rifle. It's so nice to see a new TR shooter joining us. Maynard was teasing you about a Tiger front sight holding you back but what he said about shooting in Ottawa is completely true. As soon as you can afford the time and money involved, come shoot in Ottawa, don't wait any longer than you have to.

I am curious what sort of overall length your ammo is with that combination (Lapua 155 and 95 Palma chamber).
 
Nice set-up you can shoot TR & FTR nice loading good powder & bullets, never seen a Tru Flite that wound not shoot in the low 2s or the odd .1s, you don,t need practice to go to Ottawa, the way your shooting your rig could win it all
