This is Taiwan's answer to SCAR
Early observations:
-The operating system of the XT97 is more akin to the M14 rather than the FNH SCAR-the short-stroked piston pushing the op-rod and bolt carrier assembly. The weight ratio of the bolt carrier assembly is estimated to be 1:5, speculating the ROF to be around 650rpm.
-Like the preceding T86/91, the piston can be removed from the front, which makes cleaning and maintenance easier.
-The folding stock release lever looks identical to the ones on fire selector.
Detail of the flash-hider
Dial release of the retractable stock
Sling attachment point-front
Ambidextrous charging handle
Hand guard details
Front sight base
Marking on the receiver
Hinge of the folding buttstock and the release lever
"9mm training ammunition(Simunition?) Variant
Quick-detach barrel and "heavyweight short-stroke gas operation assembly"
XT97 in folded position
