I did a search and came up empty. From the pictures they look the same. The price of each indicate a significant difference. Starting out, and I won't be reloading a tonne of ammo.

Well the rockchucker supreme has quite a bit more caming action, ie it takes less torque on the handle to resize brass. It's been quite a while since I used a partner, but I remember it's not as easy to size brass with, however for quality of the finished product, I don't know of any difference.

The Partner is the lightest of the RCBC presses and is not overly robust. It is a light cast aluminum frame and while IMHO a better press than the entry level Lee presses it is far from being a cast iron Rock Chucker or Aluminum Reloader Special.

I picked a Partner up in a trade deal a few years ago and used it as a dedicated bullet seating press. I did try it to resize some rifle cases and while it worked OK I wouldn't want to do thousands of rifle cases with it.

Partner

will work fine for you for thousands of rounds if you load smaller sized cases. If getting into the larger cases, say Magnum sized, then I would opt for a RockChucker.

I use a Partner press for my range loading box. It works perfect for what I need.

I have used both. Both will make quality ammo.

For sizing 308 type ammo or pistol ammo, the Partner is nice and fast.

If I was going to be forming big wildcat cases - the Rockchucker would be better.

I traded the Partner for a mint condition M1 Carbine.

I had a question about a Rcbs jr. I didn't find out too much about this press. I know it is an older press. Thats about it. Its had to tell any difference from pictures, they all look the same.

I'm not loading any exotic elephant rounds.(yet) I'm just looking for a good quality press that I'm not going to regret 2 months down the road.

It sounds as though everyone backs the rock chucker, but is that like driving a Chevy but wanting a Cadillac? Or is it more like driving the Cadillac that the bank owns as opposed to driving your own car that gets you from point A to point B.

I believe the Rockchucker Supreme is cast aluminum as well. At least mine appears to be.

i have a partner press here, i use it to seat bullets or to set in primers.. i used mine for the 222 with no problem..
but i dont think it would last long doing a bunch of full length sizing of 30 cals or over..
as its name states "partner" its a perfect little press to partner up to a bigger press to do the light duty stuff..

I have used my partner press for over 15 years and have loaded thousands of rounds from it - everything from .32ACP to 7 Rem Mag. Very portable - can be clamped or bolted almost anywhere. I broken the arm the first year I had it, but it was replaced free of charge by RCBS. Haven't had any issues since, although it does "flex" a little when full length resizing larger calibers. If you are looking for light and portable, this is your press. If you want a more ridged permanent set up, then go for the rockchucker or both as mentioned above.

partner press or rock chucker

my first press was a partner and I had no problems with it at all . I sold it top a guy from CGN several months ago and he seemed very happy with the condition of the press as I had taken good care of it . if you are going to be loading large calibers I would go with the rockchucker . but either will work,

good luck in your choice.

How about the RCBS kits. Is the stuff in the kit good or should I buy everything separate?

I also like the idea of the lock-n-load presses. They seem like a good idea. Quick on the changes and set it once and its done. I know the Lee stuff is out of favor with many of you, but how about the hornady?
