Hi everyone, just wondering if there is a huge quaility difference between the two. I know each has their own siwival "S" serise model which is what i'd be after. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Here is a pic of the Rock Mount brand to jog the memory.

I started with a rock mount but after a year of using it with my centerfire varmit rifles it failed!!!
I bought a Harris ( have a couple now) and never looked back.
The only way I would buy a rock mount again was if I got an excellent deal and then only if it were going on a rimfire only!!
I try to save money when I can, but I have been down this road and didn't like the result.

WCMD, thanks for the reply. Where did you get a Harris Bipod from? I went to their website and it looks like they don't do international shipping????

I went with a Rock Mount as well. I don't mind paying money for quality bit since it is a Parker Hale rifle I really wanted the very well regarded Parker Hale Bipod if I was going to spend the money on a good one. Almost like it would have been frightfully rude to use the Harris.

Wholesale Sports carries a wide selection from Harris.
I am happy to return the favor when it comes to information, you probability don't remember but last year I asked you quite a few questions about Ruger 10/22's.
What goes around comes around.........................:D

Harris bi-pods

I have one tall (13 - 25) and maybe 5 or 6 that are 9 - 13 inches.
Every rifle should have at least one Harris. You should check those other makes for the new health warning . . . Made in CinhA"

LOL. I agree. Every rifle should have one. I am looking for the longest adjustable swivel model so I can sit and blast gophers. No standing for me :)

I love my harris bipods, I think you can get them from rimfiresports in the states for much cheaper than here, and free shipping too.

So how exactly do these rock mount bipods fail? Not that I doubt it, as they are cheap, but i want to know what to look for. I picked up 2 of the 9-13 prone bipods at a gun show last year for $45.00 each, which is $55.00 a peice cheaper than the local gun shop sell them for and harris bipods are simply not available in my city. I'm just using them on my savage rimfires so I am hoping they will last for a while.

Edit
Just noticed the O.P. is from the same city as I am, and i feel your pain on the bipod situation.

i have a rock mount on my 7mm. i somtimes switch it over to the 10/22 for ####s and giggles. i like it alot. no real problems with it yet. couple user caused screw ups, but no issue with the bipod itself. mine is the 6" - 9" swivel model. i've got the swivel function tightened right up. it's over rated. i won't buy another swivel model, but i'd buy another rock mount.

I really cant tell the difference between both, just like older honda civics and their acura counter parts

my only bipod is a rockmount and I have no complaint about it

I purchased a Harris Bipod this weekend. It was the S25 model and it doesn't jive with my 1717 HB. My front stud is a little off center and turned so when I put it on, it left a little mark on my stock :eek.

So, I am either going to sell it or take it back.

Anyone know of any good shooting sticks or anything else that doens't need to be fastened onto the stock?

I have 2 harris bi-pods........ They have both worked flawlesly for the last 2-3 years (bought them a year apart) I had the shorter one on my 30-06 this year for deer season & it worked flawlessly....... I got 5 deer, all with on shot takedowns....... thats better than I am without a bipod!
