Hi folks, was looking around on the web and found Rock River Arms out of the states. They seem reasonably priced at first. Does anyone know anything about them and are they available in Canada? I am looking at the 5.56 in varmint/coyote barrel.

Thanks, Saskcowboy

They are great rifles. Questar International carries them. They are a site sponser and you can find their link up top.

I bought my National match A4 from Questar.

Depends on what you want I guess. Will they compare to a Colt/Noveske, not a chance. But for a good solid rifle you cant beat them for the price. They seem to have come down in price a bit on the Questar website which is always good. They are also contracted for the DEA if that means anything to you. Stag is another great rifle for the price and you can get them at Arms East. They also have a lifetime warrenty were the RRA does not. Thats a big point right there.

I have a RRA and it works great. The big plus is that most of them come standard with their two stage match trigger which is a huge improvement over the standard trigger. Combined the .223 Wylde chamber I have found most RRA rifles to be real tack drivers.

Stag's are great rifles as well and the lifetime warranty is a huge plus. I'm not sure however if it will still apply if you start adding certain accessories. Can anyone comment on it? I would guess they might not cover it if you changed the trigger group, BCG and/or barrel.

I wish people would stop saying Site Sponsor.
Do they Donate money to CGN for operating costs??

Or are they Dealers that pay a fee to conduct business?

There is a difference.

But yes. Questar is where you will Find RRA.

Even though Kevin B. says he would never buy one...............

Actually we did originally offer to donate money to CGN for operating costs... instead Greentips decided to bring in the banners and charge dealers a fee for those banners. We were happy either way as the idea was to fund Gunnutz to upgrade the site when it was experiencing problems (seems like a long time ago :)).

Questar has been the "official" importer of Rock River Arms for a number of years now.

As for KevinB not buying one... if I was doing what Kevin does (did) for a living I wouldn't buy one either. There's a big difference between people who use their weapon to earn a living in environments where the "targets" shoot back and people who don't.

Here in Canada you're a paper/steel target shooter and a "game player". The requirements are different and therefore so are the needs and criteria. There's lots of stuff that Kevin won't buy... that does not necessarily make them bad things to buy. RRA makes a pretty good gun for the money... and as target guns go we've been VERY PLEASED with the results we've seen the past few years. Very few warranty issues and very good track record.

You could do a lot worse ;)

I own two RRA's...
A 5.56/.223 and a 9mm.
Both are very nice...

As far as comparing 'em to Colt../

Well... I've seen more than a couple Colts bite the dust mid match and have had to lend my RRA.

I agree with RRA being very good Quality.
My understand with Kevin B. is he has (had) issues with previous business ethics of the company (RRA).

I would Buy a RRA.....one of their national Match rifles most likely.
But I have to many things going right now.....some day :)

I assume at 9.7 pounds they are an Hbar?

If I was looking for a first rifle to compete in SR, that is what I'd go with, hands down....
