Well I went to the range today with Nessy357. The first time out for the M1. I gleefully loaded the M1 magazines with 5 rounds each, slapped in a mag, pulled the trigger and it fired but the action did not move back and cycle another round. Again I tried, same result. I disassembled the M1 and found the it had no gas pistol or gas piston nut parts 19 and 20 on pic. Are there other parts required to get this beastly functioning? Is there a pin to hold the gas nut in place? I have emailed the store I bought it off and I am waiting their reply.

Would popular opinion be that I am SOL or should the store make this right?

if it is usgi pm aacollectable he will have the parts

the piston sits inside the gasblock a nut holds the piston in you NEED the special wrench (ebay about $15.00 us) DO NOT try and install the nut without the special wrench it will NOT go well!! (ask me how i know)

when piston is installed it should move freely tipping the rifle up and down it should move

you can use it as a 'bolt action in the meantime BUT you will be "shooting" alot of gunk into the stock through the gas block
