Roll Pins and m14's

Hello Everyone!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Does anyone know what size I need punch to take out the roll pin at the stripper clip guide.

And which direction do i punch it? Up or towards the action/ground?

I opened my little plastic drawer of finishing nails and found one with the head as big as the roll pin and small enough to pass through the hole. As I recall, I could see from the top, so that is where I started.
 
It is a 3/32 roll pin punch or a #3 . Be sure it is long enough ,otherwise it will get stuck and break off . Make sure you pull the bolt out or you will tap the pin on top of your bolt and marr the finish .

So Tomorrow I will go look at my local can tire for the roll pin punch.

When I get it back in is there any special tricks or tips? Do I need to buy a new pin? And I should put the pin from the receiver side up?

I took mine out to mount a scope once, then decided that I liked the iron sights better, but I haven't bothered to put the stripper clip guide back in. There's not much point since 7.62x51 clips don't work as nicely as 7.62x39 clips do.
