08:55 am, third day of rifle season here in AB, (but my first opportunity to get out). The road hunters were thick as thieves, but this bad boy was 1km from the closest road.

Knight Disc 209, 90gr T7, and 300 grain XTP. It was a long drag back to the truck as the landowner has a strict NO VEHICLES policy.

Nice ! Most deer are taken in muzzle loader ranges and the one you have can shoot the nuts off a gnat at 100 yards. I know what you mean about the f'ing road warriors. Walking back into the bush may mean more work getting that boy out but it is worth it as you notice the looks on the faces of the road warriors s you load him up as they drive by.

They are so lazy around me all I have to do is walk 200 yards into the bush and I am alone.

Congrats again. Nice deer.

Nice buck!
I dragged out 2 deer last year, dad's deer about 600m, next day mine about 400m.

I bought a small ice fishing toboggan to drag them out this year.

Nice buck. Dragging got old along time ago get a good pack and you will be laughing.

True 'dat! Started out with a pack in the mountains, drug them here on the prairie(the way I was taught), built a gamecart and used it a few times, now we're back to packs and boning them on the spot. Not really sure why I ever switched.

Congratulations on the deer!

Congrats on the nice buck, and good for you using a muzzleloader. Tough hauling it out though. I got mine with a muzzleloader this year a couple of hundred yards off the dirt trail, but it ran a 125 yards strait toward my car, I was very thankfull for that.

Nice buck!!!

Has knight started up again? I thought they folded a few years back??

??

They've been back for awhile, but I have the original DISC 209 with the Timney trigger and Green Mountain barrel. When Knight was struggling I hoarded the orange disc's, replacement breach plugs, spare bolt assemblies, and even a thumbhole stock.

A quick shout out to CGN'r "Night" for hooking me up with most of that stuff.
