Got a couple of crates of Romanian 7.62
1320 rounds, brass cased, not sure of the primer type.

I was highly surprised to see brass casing...

Now for the important question, im assuming its corrosive, but does anyone know if it is?

Is it brass, or brass/copper washed steel?

Brass i think, magnet doesnt stick to it.
Steel core bullet (magnet sticks)
Bredan primed, 2 flash holes

5440:

It does have red sealant on primer and bullet but its definitely not grey/green case, unless im color-blind (ive been arguing with my gf for about 2 months now, she says her couch is blue, i say its green :p )
Head stamp says 22 on the top, and 69 in the bottom. Seems that 22 is the factory code, and i assume 69 is the year it was loaded.

Le baron in Missussauga. Seems like it went out on the floor today, it was still on a cart. Not a whole lot of it, but at $207 a case seemed like a good deal

Well, 22 is a Romanian code, 69 being the year of production. Is there an R P R on the base? No matter, some say RPR 22 some just say 22. It will be corrosive, and for all intents and purposes, not financially viable to reload. It's funny how often surplus is mis-identified. I've bought cases of Polish light ball, opened it up, googled and found I had Hungarian heavy ball.

Thanks for the info. I dont care as much about reloading, for now its cheap enough to buy. Corrosive makes a difference, i shoot at night and come home at 3-4 am at times and who feels like cleaning at that time.

I hear you on that. I limit myself to one corrosive eater per range trip, so my wife doesn't feel abandoned when I retreat to the garage for hours...

Try the MFS stuff for quick range trips. Steel cased, quite cheap, non-corrosive. SFRC sells it, if no-one local does. I use it when I feel lazy.

Mine are lacquered steel cases with copper wash bullets and factory 22 over 70 (1970) production. Comes packed in 20 round cardboard boxes inside a nice wooden case with steel hinges on back and latches on the front.
