I just got a new 10/22 rifle yesterday is there anything i should do before i go out to have a little fun with it.

I know stupid question but what else yold you expect from an F.N.G

Figure out how the mag release and bolt lock works. I helped out one guy poking a screw driver into his action at the range cause he didn't know how to close the bolt!
 
As per the other posters for your question. Read the manual...a few times, practice using the bolt hold/release (you will eventually put an aftermarket release in, or modify the existing one)...clean and inspect the bore...go to your favorite shooting spot and enjoy!!! P.S. you may want to buy a Butler Creek loader (about $40.00). Don't forget to buy lots and lots of ammo, you're going to need it.
 
Dont pull the small spin at the bottom thinking it will drop the trigger assemble and then take the big ones out then drop it... :bangHead:

Yeah i gotta deal with that mess tomorrow.
 
Don't be disappointed if it is a bit finiky on ammo at first, they tend to smarten up after a couple of bricks and get more forgiving. Mine has always liked Rem. cyclone.
