I finally bought this little 410 after looking at it for months thinking about buying it. it was chambered in 2" 410 and has black powder proofs. it had a mirror bore and is in great shape.
i bought this shotgun for a project so i didn't end up firing it as a 410. and through a little mishap its chambered a new round i made up, its like a 297/230 Morris mag imp the case is 22.2mm long and the shoulder is at 15.5mm, opposed to 15mm long and the shoulder at 8 mm in the Morris. (looks like a shortened 22K hornet)
i made a reamer for the 297.230 and it didn't have a pilot on it and some how i managed to get it slightly crooked, so i set the barrel up on the lathe and bored the chamber with a small carbide boring bar.
for this project i used a cooey 82 full length barrel for the liner, i turned it to be a solid tap fit (10.25mm with 12 mm chamber area) into place and then head space on the 12mm counter bore i put into the chamber area
the gun did weigh 3 pound 3 oz with 30" barrel, now its 3 pounds 12 oz with a 27" barrel
i still need to add some sights to the rifle, i want to make a new oversized hinge pin that fits into a counter bore on the far side of the receiver opposed to only threads holding on that side.
if you are interested in machining and old odd guns here is 2 links to others ive done.

I'm pretty excited for how this has turned out. i love the look of the thumb lever and how small the rifle is, the receiver is only 3/4" wide its incredibly small in hand.
i have no idea what I'm going to use it for, but with it being centerfire ill be able to shoot it easy enough, and i can make brass by cutting down 22 hornet brass and neck sizing it.
