Has anyone purchased one of the Rooster33 Scout Mounts and put it on their M14? I am curious on how they work. It seems to be alot shorter than the springfield scout mount. Would there be any problems mounting an aimpoint M2 onto this short of a mount?
 
I got one with an Aimpoint on it. Works fine. You'll have no problem mounting optics that only require one ring. If you want to mount a scout scope or something similar get the springfield mount.
 
Nope. I only have 5 mags so it doesn't get to hot after only 25 rounds, before I have to stop and bomb up my mags giving the barrel a chance to cool.

I don't see why not. I would suggest you mount your accessory to the two mounts first before snugging the mount to the barrel to make sure they are aligned.
