I am in need of help.

I took the Ross 1905 bolt apart to clean it (ejector, saftety, firing pin and all) and I am having trouble re-assembling it so that it will slide back into the rifle.

1) when I reassemble the middle section (with the firing pin in it) I have a few options in orientation. Only one would be correct.
What do I align (ie: the gas escape hole in the center section should be at what location if the bolt handle is at 3:00 postion) ?
2) I am guessing the ejector is assembled last ?
3) when re-assembling into the rifle does it matter where the safety is ?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Ok, looking from the front of the bolt body. Assemble and orient the bolt into the bolt body so that the "ejector slot" in the bolt is at the "7 O'clock" position ( bolt lugs horizontal) when the bolt is all the way into the sleeve.

At this point you can install the extractor so that the bolt doesn't fall out when it comes time to install the cocking piece. Pull the bolt forward until the locking lugs are about the 1 and 7 O'clock position. Carefully push the tail of the extractor past the bolt head into the retaining groove of the bolt body while holding the bolt firmly to keep it from turning, carefully push up the front of the extractor with your thumb and continue pushing rearward until the rearward ledge on the extracter snaps down behind the back edge of the bolt head. If done correctly, the ejector slot should still be in the 7 O'Clock position when the bolt is closed up against the bolt body.

The safety can only go in one way...from the bolt handle side. carefully install the spring and detent into it's respective hole, then push the safety onto the slot. Be mindfull that the detent doesn't get jammed up or bent when doing this. The cocking piece can be done last, and is relatively self explanatory.

1905 bolts are goddamn hard to put back together. I wish I had some more constructive advice, but various forms of pushing, pulling and twisting were required to get proper alignment. Took me damn near an hour to figure it out.
