Hi Guys,
It has been a long winter so far and I needed a project. I decided to do a Ross Model 1910 cutaway "Replica" since very few exist. This was made from several Ross rifles that had been modified by "Bubba" to the point of being useless. I was able to salvage enough to make this piece.

It looks really good and was a lot of work (about 48 hours).

Enjoy. Bill

Did you mill away a real full-length Ross stock? If so, that's a shame :( ALOT of guys would pay big $$ for a non-chopped stock.

Are the cutouts in the correct pattern, or did you wing it? I've never seen a real Ross cutaway.

Also, did you exactly copy the original brass buttstock inlay? Or does it say something else?

And finally - does it need to be registered??? lol...

The standard question about Ross rifles is; will the bolt fly back when it is fired? You mentioned having other Rosses. You might want to think over how to illustrate that particular set of circumstances in your next project.

cool project, I agree it looks great! Don't be afraid to give a complete pic of the finished rifle! x2 on the red paint, and great work! Does it have to be registered still?
