Gents,

I'm cleaning out some of my old stuff from my parents' place and have a bayo and sheath for a Ross Rifle.

Anyone need one? Condition is a little rough but it's near 100 years old...

No idea what it's worth and thought I would consult the sages here.

Thanks for any help,

Put it on the EE. Someone will want it. I paid about $100 for one, but photos are best to show condition, which will determine selling price. There are two versions. One fits the MkII and one the MkIII. Again, photo will clarify.

Thanks for the insights guys.

Your bayonet is the first model manufactured for the 1905 Ross rifles, the blades were never modified. Inside the muzzle ring there should be a piece of spring steel that acts as a buffer to prevent the bayonet rattling on the barrel. They use to sell for less than $100 in these parts, your bayonet and scabbard are in very good condition so it will probably be in the range of $125 and up. If you find a Model 1910 with the original blade that hasn't been modified then you can start the price at $350 and go up from there. I have a number of Ross 1905s in my collection, a nickel-plated ceremonial blade, and the US marked version. I also have a collection of Model 1910s but not as extensive as the 1905 version.
