I'm not a Ross collector or anything and have no idea if this is rare or not, but it seems a shame regardless. This was found at my grandpa's farm in some junk. I could make out a few letters so I hit the metal with the wire wheel and found "Ross Rifle Co. Quebec Patented 1907". Its really rusted badly and obviously sharpened into a more 'knife' like shape.f:P:

Sorry Ross guys.

That's a SUPER good find!!

You should make up an electrolysis tank and put that old girl in. It will remove all of the rust without doing further damage!!

Probably one of those hunting knife conversions done after the war. Bubba didn't stick to rifles. ;)

Grizz

There's a chance it could be a fighting knife conversion done during WWI. It's more likely to be the hunting knife, as Grizz suggests, but it might be worth finding out if it found it's way into Fritz's jugular.

If the "button" is ground off the catch it probably is the remains of one of those hunting knife conversions.

If the large C has two arrows inside pointing at each other it a sales stamp. They are hunting knives.
These hunting knives are mentioned in book, "The Ross Rifle Story" and "The Canadian Bayonet".
