Does anybody make an aftermarket stock for the ross m-10? I have a sporsterised m-10 and would like to get a different stock. I am pretty sure the barrel has been shortened too. It's a great shooter but could use an updated stock. Anybody know where they sell them?

Something like this?

I think you mean you have a sporterized MKIII not an M-10 (even though some of the actions are marked M-10. Using up parts.

M-10s are in .280 Ross

Do a search for recent posts. There is a CGN'er with a pantograph profiling machine who has started making new Ross stocks from blanks. He is still learning how to run the machinery, but the results are promising. But ... the hardware bits, bands and nosecap are another problem. There is enough demand to start casting new ones, but I don't know if anyone is doing that yet.

cast steel is an issue, not may foundries left doing small production runs. somebody was talking about having a machinist make them, but that is going painfully slow for you Ross guys. cast Zammak or aluminum i can help with. the Zammak can be stronger than cast iron in certain circumstance, and can be patina`ed black, have to find formula again somewhere. aluminum will need paint, and neither will stand up to a fixed bayonet melee for very long if that is your thing. However, if anyone has an original i can pull a pattern from(best), or a scaled drawing/ photo with measurements(ok, but will definitely take longer), i can eventually get you into the looks good department. up to you guys. i`ll be making a nose cap for a No5 Mk 1 soon, and i`ll be posting that. i believe those were parkered or painted.

I know there is a dimensioned drawing somewhere out there. If anyone has it, or if anyone has a spare front band kicking around, i can explore trying to have it machined. I am a Machinist and know how to draft and program.
