It may be said that this ought to be posted in 'Reloading'...if so, beg pardon Mod's.
But Ross's are such a 'niche gun' that I surmised that 'Milsurp' would be better suited to ask for Pet loads for a Ross.
I had asked this before and Tinman204 sent me a PM ( concerning Smellie's secret recipe), which worked marvelous...except that I cleaned out my inbox & misplaced my 'recipe' book.
IIRC it was a smaller load of 4895 under a 174 grain SP...38 gr maybe?
Thanks

I would prefer to keep the pressures down, my other 303 is a long Lee. No need beating it up IMO, nor developing 2 loads. A common loading for the 2 would be great.

My go to loads for mk3 ross rifles with full length barrels are:

POWDER- 36.5 GRAINS IMR 4895
PRIMER- CCI 200
BRASS- DA 44 NECKSIZED
BULLET- SIERRA 180 PROHUNTER or HORNADAY 174 GR

I seat the bullets 10 thou off the lead in my Ross. Its drives nails with the above load.

Cast is:

100-200 YARD PLINKING LOAD

POWDER- 13.5 GR RED DOT
PRIMER- CCI 200
BRASS- FC OR DA 44 NECK SIZED
BULLET- LEE 180 GRAIN CAST SIZED .312"

200-300 YARD LOAD

POWDER- 18 GRAINS OF 2400
PRIMER- CCI 200
BRASS- FC OR DA 44
BULLET- LEE 180 GR SIZED .312"

I shoot the same load in my long lee and the results are quite good..

My Ross load is decent in my smles but I bump the load up to 38.5 grains to compensate for the shorter barrel which seems to really wake up the gun.

Hope the above helped a bit.

Feel free to PM me any time with load questions tokguy, I dont post as much here as I once did but I'm still here pretty much every day.
