Front marked "Patented Great Britain, Canada, USA". Back marked "Canada tool & Specialty Co ltd New Glascow NS". Aperture, adjustable for windage and elevation. The sight is a match sight manufactured by Canada Tool & Specialty Co. in New Glasgow, NS. The eye cup is missing. The military version has a primary "U" notch and an aperture and secondary "U" notch on a flat plate. These sights are often found on Mk II Ross rifles and will also fit the Mk III as well as pre No. 1 Lee Enfields and Metfords and earlier British service rifles. The target version would be of limited use when barrel mounted due to the distance from the eye.
The partial bridge was also manufactured by Canada Tool, and fits the Mk II Ross. The entire top section is missing, as is the bolt assembly that passes through the stock. The through-bolt passes through eccentric washers, which facilitate tightening the bridge down onto the rifle. The following photo shows the entire bridge assembly. Interestingly enough, the sight in this photo appears to be the same as the OP's
Although not particularly common, neither the sight nor the bridge is rare. I can post a photo of the military version, if wanted.
