Hello all,
I've come into possession of what I am pretty sure is a WW1 leather carry case for the Ross scope.
I found documents from the War Purchasing Commission showing the company (M.J wilson & sons) was commissioned to make 250 leather cases for the Ross rifle scope in 1916.
I have never seen this case before and I am wondering if anyone else has. It's not the typical ross scope carry case that I have seen, that is why I ask.

Hi Spencer. It is not a scope case for the Warner and Swazey scope placed on the Ross Rifle.
It may be for an artillery scope as MJ Wilson supplied multiple leather items for the war effort. John

I am looking at the picture of a Ross rifle Warner Swazey scope leather carrying case in my copy of "Without Warning", a book about the history of Canadian sniper rifles, and your case does not look anything like the one documented in the book. Picture is on page 6, showing the case and matching rifle with scope. Probably a case for some other optical instrument?

Is there a way to access the full document online?
