Longbranch pretty well nailed it for you.....first:- overall condition. second:- All original Factory and Gummint markings still in place, and third:- value should/would go up the earlier the rifle. Example- a really nice 1916 that hadn't been battered by the Pommie Homeguard in WWII should bring around $1250, but if one were offered an equally clean 1914 with all the early features, likely $1500 either Kretchens or Booshbux would sound fair for both buyer and seller- a same-year bayonet and scabbard plus an original leather, Canadian Saddler-marked sling would be really something to behold!
