Hello folks looking for some advice on sights for my Rossi 92. I have a 20” barrel 92 that I have enjoyed hunting deer with for the last few years but I find I have a hard time picking up the sights. I have young eyes so I don’t think a scope is for me and I’m mostly hunting dense bush. I’m not a fan of peep sights, I like the configuration of the stock sights but would really like a brass or silver bead on the front sight. Has anyone found a decent set of sights for the Rossi 92? I also have the matching mares leg to my rifle I need sights for. If anyone could point me In the right direction it would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, goose

I got the skinner rear and front sights as well. Bought the rear peep sights first but was hitting too high. Bought the taller fronts it is a bit better but decided not to file down the front sight blade. Front sights that I got didn’t have a bead.

Skinner doesn't make a bead sight, I'd go with a Marbles bead with either a small brass bead or a small red fiber optic insert.
They also make white beads and green fiber optics and offer different bead sizes.
You can check out their rear sights as well they make several different kinds of variations on traditional buckhorn type sights.

Brownells is where I usually go as I find you will likely have to order them anyways. There are also online calculators that can help you determine the correct height of the bead, based on your gun and whether or not you need to make adjustments to help with the point of impact vs point of aim.

Thanks for the reply, does brownells ship to Canada?

Rusty is probably the one place that might have what you need in stock for sure, Brownells ships most things to Canada and bead sights are not a controlled or restricted item.

Make sure to ask them to ship United States Postal Service International as they do have a couple different shipping options and the USPS International seems to work out the cheapest. No rhyme or reason but some packages arrive at your door and others require a GST payment at the Post Office and Canada Post takes a $10 cut as well.

Skinner ships to Canada... but with a Rossi, make sure that you micrometer measure your dovetail size that you need because Rossi was all over the place and inconsistent.

Usually the sights are a bit oversized and you need to file some material off the bottom of the sight till it fits just right.

Sight pictures are a personal thing. Some like a Square Post through a Round Peep but I prefer a nice round bead either through nice buckhorn's with a bit of a curl or through an aperture of some sort. The buckhorn design(to my eye) gives some different reference points for elevation adjustment on the fly.

I also like to put the bead right on the target spot as opposed to more of a target hold just below the point of impact.

I like skinner front sight, but not the back ones. Round and square never worked for me. The front are really just a partridge sight. A square notched rear is the best match. 5 minutes and flat file and a narrow file you can make the rear match the front. Sharper alignment lines, better sight window. Estimating elevation is sharper and still keep a better sight window.

This is my 92 sight, sharp lines are easier to line up when blurry than rounded.
