Rossi LWC single shot

Interesting little rifle. Looks like they've got a few calibers and at $333 USD the prices aren't terrible either. I'm not really enamored by 300blackout, but the ones in 556, 357mag, and 350 legend are interesting. 400 Legend would also be cool to see.

Will be interesting to see what sort of price they land in Canada at, I could definitely see me getting one if the triggers are decent.

If the mechanism is the same as my Tuffy it would be very simple to clean-up.

Rossie isn't exactly known for quality...
CVA and Traditions are established and quite decent in this same category.

Rossi quality is much better these days thanks to retooling and getting more stringent on QC. The LWC single shots wear hammer forged barrels (Like the Traditions) and I reckon they would be fine shooters. If they bring them out in 360 Buck Hammer I'm going to scoop one.

Interesting, but...the website says it's seven pounds! Seems a bit porky for a short-barrel single-shot dubbed the Light Weight Carbine.

Edit: Actually, it's more like 5 pounds and a bit. I can't do math.

I have a CVA takedown Scout in .44mag; not sure what it weighs (must check sometime), but overall a lovely little gun.

And, more importantly...I wonder how the cost of the Rossi compares to that of the CVA.

Funny how the previous generation of cheap singleshots, like the H&R's, Baikals, etc. never seemed to gain more than a niche/cult following, simply because people looking for CHEAP! were presented with budget bolt guns like the Savage Axis, et al. Hey look, it's the same price and I can stuff in a handful of bullets instead of just one! SOLD!!!

The only thing that kept H&R/NEF going as long as they did was the small segment of the market that liked singleshots for their own sake. You know, the folks who now jump to pay $700 or $800 for a used one...

Now, even the Axis and other "cheap" bolt guns have crept up in price, so the makers bring in the next wave of even cheaper singles like these. Hopefully these will be successful and help introduce a bunch of new shooters to the sport...and then some of these newbies will become actual admirers of singleshots, rather than just buying them for the low price.

The Rossi LWC was cheaper than buying a barrel for my Contender.

Given the crazy prices Bullseye had for the GForce Huckleberry lever guns I'm gonna wait to see what others list them at...

Cool to see they're expected to be here in a few months though.

As for the comment about Axis etc, creeping up in price, you can still get an Axis for the same sort of price as these single shots. But at least for me I'm over the Axis, I have one and it's fine for what it is, I'm not interested in adding more to my collection though.

Well Rossi has 333 USD MSRP which is like 457$ CAD, so 479 isn't bad.

I mean some people buy a 200$ shotgun and a 250$ adapter, because the single shot rifles are no wheres to be found.
