Rossi M92 44mag, 16" or 20"?

I'm looking to purchase a Rossi M92. Should I get the 16 or 20 version?

For the folks the 16", did you have to cut the tube mag spring?

Is the 20" more balanced compared to the 16"?

Sight pic better on the 20"?

The big question..............what are your plans for it?
I'd get the shorty as there are 'nuff 'round 'ear with the longer barrels.

I have the 16" version, and no, I didn't have to cut the magazine tube spring for it to operate properly.

If you want to play at cowboy action shooting ( and who wouldn't ) 10 shots is needed. I have a 45,& a 454 both 20 inch. They swing well and great to shoot.

Just range shooting purpose. 16" barrel does look cooler. How many rounds does it take for the action to smooth out?

Reason I am looking at Rossi was that initially I put an order at Cabela's for the Henry Big Boy Steel at $799 but I was just told it is on back order. Made me think to look at the Rossi as I always liked the side load gate functionality.

On the 8th or 9th round load, is it harder to push the round in?

I have had a few examples of both and prefer the 20". Pints and handles better in my opinion.

Depends on what you plan to do with it. If is going to be a bush, treestand or ground blind rifle that is light and easy to manoeuvre and shots under 100 yards than go with the 16".

I have a 12" barrel Henry Big Boy that is light and easy to carry or sling to my backpack.

As for accuracy from my 12"... pictures speak louder than words:

50 yards on a calm day:

100 yards on a windy day:

More than enough accuracy for bear or deer under 100 yards.
