Has anyone tried or seen the Rossi line of muzleloader ? I have an opportunity to pick one up at a decent price but can't find anyone who has fired or even seen one other than me. If there is ant experiences could you let me know. Cheers.

I have one, I got it as a x-mas present actually...

It shoots great, I love it all to bits. very easy to take the barrel off and clean it.

The trigger is a bit heavy tho, but they may have fixed it because I recently bought a Rossi 12 ga. single shot and the trigger on that one is sweet.

Its a great brush gun. Just watch the sights on it, they are all in plastic. I got mine changed to remington plain iron sights, cost me 50 bucks. Back sight dropped right in, front sight had to drill one hole for the screw. that was an extra 15$.
But you dont have to do this really, I'm just very fussy.

My overall impressions, I love it. would I buy it again? I'd hesitate between this one and the CVA Wolf. They are practically the same.

Hope it helps :D

Thanks for the reply, what kind of grouping can be expected at 100 yds ? I think for the money it can't be beat I just don't want to end up with a 200.00 paddle for my canoe.

well to be quite honest with you, I've never benched it at 100 yards. I sight it in a half inch to an inch high at 50 yards. And it's open sights so it's hard to get groups like you would with a scope but I would say at 50 yards, benched on sand bags, I can safely put 3 shots in ohh a bit less than 1 to 1.5 inches?

I've never calculated it and to be honest I think it's much better than that but like I said, open sights, on sandbags as a bench...

But where I hunt, I will never or very very very rarely get a 100 yard shot, so I havent spent the time trying it out at a 100 yards.

It does group well tho, dont worry, it's not all over the place, and it's easy to sight in.

For 200$ you will get a nice black powder rifle, it wont turn into a paddle.

Oh and I'm not sure but I think you can only put 100 grain (2 pellets) of powder in it (short barrel). Not sure on that, you'd have to ask the dealer, but if you ask me, 3 pellets of 777 is really not needed unless you're shooting at more than 100 yards consistently...
