When I was kid I always wanted a Rossi pump 22.... Not sure why but I did. I was thinking about them recently and wondered if they were decent or if they are a pos. I would really like to hear from the guys who have or have had them in the past - good or bad.

I have several of them and they are awesome. I've got one with an octagon barrel too. Very reliable and accurate. Fun too you can hold the trigger back and pump as fast as you can and unload the mag. When you get good you can fire as fast as a semi auto and still hit paper.
I picked up a Rossi clone of the Winchester 62 used a couple of years ago. It is out of action just now because it finally got fouled up enough that it requires cleaning. Took me a bunch of time and rounds to get there too. It was also a favourite of the kids at my club's Jr 22 program. Only my lever Henry is more liked and more shot by them. Both rifles have WAY more rounds through them at their hands than mine.
If you can find one I would not hesitate. I'm only working from a sample of one but it's been a very reliable gun and darn accurate. Shooting from prone but with arms and not bags has no trouble producing sub one inch groups at 20 yards. I haven't shot it from bags at the outdoor range yet. When I've take it out it's just too much fun with a Caldwell steel flip up .22 target instead of worrying about paper. When it becomes too easy at 25 yards I move this target out to 50 and then I miss about 2 out of 3. And that's shot from standing free style. When I shoot from bags that turns into 2 hits out of three shots.

I've had 4 of them, and never an issue with function or accuracy. Neat little rifles!
Always wondered what the heck that photo was...
I've owned a few pumps (Remington 12C,Win 1890,Win 62, Marlin 20) and the Rossi is the one that has stayed, and may never leave.
I have 2 models they are both the Rosii 62C carbines and are nice and short takedowns. one is blued and the other is nickel. I love them for rabbits with CBee Remingtons They are super quiet and as fast as you can pump they shoot and are accurate. I want more!!
