Yessir, got a bit bored and started playing with plywood :D

Stock is plain jane commercial plywood, glued with white glue, shaped with rasp/files/sandpaper, inletted with a sharp knife, stained and coated. Butt plate is still in progress but the gun shoots very nicely!

Now you'll look more like Chuck Connors instead of Steve McQueen.... :D

Nice job on the wood working. It's not an easy task to mortise and fit a tang style action to a lump of wood.

Good job. Did you rough inlet the left and right half before you did your glue up?

I'm cuttin up a surplus Swede M38 walnut stock now for the same use. The lines are pretty good. It's walnut of course. Trying to figure out what I'll stick in place of the brass ID circle. That inleting sure is a pain. Gonna take me a while.

I thought about it, but I didn't have any clamps so had a hard time keeping the sheets perfectly lined up when gluing. If I had a really good jig for keeping things aligned or perhaps some indexing dowels in the wood then I think I would.

A small carving set makes life really easy - some semi circle gouges, fine chisels etc etc. I got a pretty close fit using a knife and I wasn't exactly taking my time :p The rounded end of the inletting took a little bit more work but ended up ok.
