Here is a picture of my Rossi Revolver. It's a 6 shot .22LR revolver. Great pistol. The red arrow points to a red dot of about where the pin should be. The pin that used to be there seems to have broken in half. I don't know much about revolvers and particularly less about taking them apart. I don't know what that pin actually holds, but in any case, I assume that it's important and should be replaced. Does anyone know of how I can get a new one of those pins, whatever that pin is for? Maybe revolvers have common size pins or a S&W pin might fit in there?

How about a close up macro shot of the area?

There's only two things I can think off that it would be doing in that area. First is that it may be holding the rear sight in place. The other is that it is a locking pin for a floating firing pin. If the nose of your hammer is flat and there's a "button" in the base of the recess that it strikes when the hammer drops there's a good chance that this is what the missing pin is for. But that begs the question about what is holding your firing pin in place. They usually have a small spring so they are retracted back. Remove the locking pin and it SHOULD fall out of the frame. If I'm right be sure not to loose anything else.

A pin of this sort is easily replaced by a generic pin made up from some wire or stock roll or split pins. But you need to measure the size of the hole by using number drills or similar to find out what size the hole is so you can find the right pin or come up with the right option to replace it.

Thanks for your pin advice on both my posts. In terms of the tokarev, I'm kind of nervous bend it. I'd be up for trying to find the size and replacing it with a generic pin. My only issue now is that I don't have those drill bits small enough to measure the size. Any ideas how I can measure exactly the size of the pins required for those holes?

There's no really good way to measure the hole size if you don't have number drills and if it is not a size that you have. The only way to do it other than by the numbers is to field strip the slide off the gun and take it with you to a store that has pins in different sizes and try them to see if you can find one that almost but not quite fits.
