I've been offered a Rossi Rio Grande 30-30 in a trade. Wood, blued, looks to Be in very nice shape. Few minor scratches from a scope removal. It's about 5 years old. What would it have been worth new?

I know nothing about Rossi other than how to spell it
Is a Marlin 336 the same gun?

Is Rossi a clone like Churchill is to Remington? Chiappa etc.

Reliable?
Any issues to be aware of?

I'm all ears.
Thanks CGN.

I had a 16” trapper .357 that would eat all ammo plus the .38 special . I have been told that’s rare but I had zero issues . I just couldn’t hit anything with the iron sights and my eyes

I believe the Rio Grande is the Marlin style action and the R92 is the clone of the Winchester 92. I have the R92 in SS and it is beautiful. Something more appealing IMHO, about the cleaner action of the '92 in comparison to the innards dropping from the belly in the '94 action.

I have a youth combo 22lr/410, never had a miss-fire and that little 160$ rifle has been carried everywhere. Got plenty of groose with that thing and have spent a lot of afternoons shooting the 22lr.

Best investment ever.

My kid has started shooting it and he loves it too.

I have a Rossi R92, I guess it's called. My buddy put in a spring kit and polished some parts, as per the video that came with the little kit. Works really nice.

my 92 has been my go to gun for a long, long time. .357, over 15,000 rds of reloads in the last decade, flawless. it’s gone bang every time. many deer in the freezer with it. Vastly underrated; it has a solid fan base, and they are solid, well made guns
