I've been considering a new Lever in 45/70, I like my Ranch Hand, just wondering if anyone has one of these Rio's and has any feedback. I'm going to be using it as a hunting rifle just figured if they are comparable to the Marlin I'd give it a shot.

Thanks

They are a copy of the Marlin if I'm not mistaken. Rossi does a good job with their 92 clones, can't see why the Rio Grande wouldn't be the same.

I have one in Stainless I like it, bought it to replace a Marlin 1895gbl that I sold to a friend, Its noticeably lighter, no issues but it only has about 20 rounds through it, I put a set of Skinner sights on it. I had a Rossi 92 I think the fit and finish is a little better on this one.

I haven't fired one, and the only one I handled in a local shop took an extra person and a boot to even operate the action. YMMV

I would LOVE to give it a second chance, but only by firing one that works if I found someone nearby who owns one.
