Okay, where are they all hiding? I'm looking to redo the origional finish on my nagant and can not find any flakes for the life of me.... I would like to even mail order some as long as it's canadian i'll be okay.

Thanks, Ryan.

Try Lee Valley Tools. They have shelac in all sorts of colours. If there isn't one in your city, they also do internet/mail-order. (Beware though, visiting the store or the site can be hard on the wallet, so many cool tools and stuff).

I'm not sure which colour is closest (amber?). There should be a couple of threads on the subject, or ask Lou-the-pou, since he is the resident expert.

Home depot sells an amber shellac for $12.99 in the small can. It will be somewhere on the face of the mixing counter.
