Just picked up a new BLR T/D in .358 and started breaking in the barrel with some hand loads. Inspecting the brass shows a small, sharp "dent" on the radius of the shoulder of every case. Nothing drastic, but certainly could lead to shorter brass life if nothing else...plus it bugs me. How do I get rid of it? It must be a tooling mark from cutting the chamber. I'm thinking of some aggressive brass brushing and see if it comes off, then some sort of lapping or polishing. I'm thinking of using a fired case, with a bit of polishing compound on the shoulder and just hand spin it. Is that a tried and proven method or a bad idea?

If this is a chamber imperfection, don't do ANYTHING to it on a new gun. Take it back, along with a fired case.

Make sure what you are looking at is from the chamber, and not damage from ejection.
My wife's BLR does not damage cases on ejection, so I think I'd take that back too.
