Anyone have one? Any honest reviews? I admit I want one as I loved the centerfire version from taylors but had no use for one. If these rough riders are at least half decent accuracy wise I might get one

I've owned one for a couple months now. So here are my two cents:

As far as a plinker goes, it's a fun gun for sure. But there are a number of inherent issues with it that can make it a bit of a pain in the ass for some folks.

The main issue I have with it is the fact that you get sprayed with unburnt powder quite often throughout shooting it. While the gun isn't necessarily accurate to begin with (I'd call it a 50 yard gun at best.) anticipating the bite of powder on your cheek every odd shot isn't all that appealing, the thing really wants you to flinch every time you pull that trigger.

I've been taking it to the range a number of times to see what it's capable of. The accuracy isn't great, and the sights provided are a bit tough to work with. The front sight on the carbine model is a touch too high so you have to crank the rear up to the highest setting to get a reasonable zero with it. There is also the issue of the sights profile being too rounded, so any sunlight will make the top of the post fade out with glare. I'm going to file mine down to a better profile at some point to fix that and test it once again.

The last thing I would mention is that it's also incredibly loud. Ear pro is an absolute must, as well as eye protection just for the fact that it spits when you shoot. Just a few things to consider!

I had a feeling most of those things would be issues, thanks for the review StrelokM38 I was on he fence till I read that.

Hmmm. Never considered getting blasted in the face through the cylinder gap. Too bad, these looked fun, but now I'm certainly second-guessing that...

It's unfortunate, figured someone would've figured some way to help deflect the powder with these designs, but revolving rifles went out of fashion for a number of good reasons.

That said, I still like the gun to a degree, will probably continue to use it every now and then just for something unusual to take to the range. Despite the odd design, and needing to brace off of your shooting hand and trigger guard. It's actually somewhat comfortable and well balanced to hold and shoot offhand. Using the provided sling can help steady it a fair degree.

I'd like to think that there is some accuracy in these things, as some of the groups I made at 25 yards with it were pretty tight and 50 yards was certainly passable for minute of beer can. I'm just thinking that the spitting of powder and poor iron sights makes up for a lot of the accuracy issues i've experienced previously. Once I get the front sight lowered a smidge and squared up, I'm going to slap some rounds down range at 100 yards and see what it does. Just have to anticipate a fair bit more inconsistency with the cylinder gap.

AKA powder stippling wear a glove on your support hand and long sleeves. An acquaintance has one in .357 mag and shot a mule deer with it about 19" of penetration one shot deer dead.

I just recently got one and only been able to shoot it once so far. After sighting in at roughly 40 yards, i set up a bunch of old eggs I had at various distances. This is the most fun gun I have.
Now my eyes are not what they once were so have issues using iron sights but I was able to pick off those eggs fairly easy, maybe not every shot but was able to hit 5 lined up, one after the other at about 30 yds away.

Other then that, did I mention I had a blast, shot over 100 rounds that evening. Now I have a gun to shoot some of my cheap or ammo I don't use in other guns. I actually found a supply of old Imperial .22 LR for $6 a box which I'll be getting more of it.

I have not really tested how the grouping really is but on my next outing I shall give it a try. I really don't like the sights and wonder if a peep sight would be better. It will be a fun camping gun to have around.
