I read that you can only have 3 rounds in a Semi Automatic Shotgun when you go hunting. Does that also apply at the range when your doing Skeet Shooting or other shooting activities(Clay and Trap Shooting)?

No, no restriction at the range, but your semi auto shotgun is still restricted to 5 since its a center fire semi auto. I dont know where your from but here in nova scotia it only applies to waterfowl hunting.

In trap or skeet, official rules state, you may only load 2. There are only a maximum of 2 targets thrown at any one time. Any more would be dangerous.

Anywhere in Canada
Semiauto shotgun Max 5 in magazine so 6 total in firearm
Hunting rules as per hunting regs where ever you may be
Sporting rules as per your discipline
eg IPSC shotgun semi's 6
all othere as per their rules

question was for trap and skeet. As far as I know, no clay target sport allows more than 2.

The rules on our fields specify 2 only.

I've traveled to many clubs in the US and Canda, and all fields I've ever shot on limit number of shells to be loaded to 2.

A maximum of two is permitted for sporting clays, doubles trap and most skeet stations. Trap singles, handicap and skeet station #8 are one only.
