Roy Dunlap's Ordnance Went Up Front

.

Comments, anyone? :yingyang:

Is it worth the $85 USD? ;)

I've read the book and it's quite interesting. Well written too. He does have a few opinions that I don't agree with though.

I would not pay that kind of money unless you collect that type of book. I think I paid about $30 CDN for the new hardback copy I had.

Where'd you find a new hardback copy?

I paid $30 dollars over 30 years ago, it’s pretty interesting, he certainly points out the weakness of the SMLE rifle, mainly the thin barrel, and finicky work at getting the fore stocks fitted , and the poorly protected sights on the 03 Springfield , he was a big fan of the Model 1917 Enfield, and P14 , praising these rifles strength and accuracy,

For the time he was writing he had amazingly favourable things to say about some Italian arms and he admitted that some US arms were not perfect.
