Royal Canadian Navy firearms?

Would you elaborate on the FN C1D? Never heard of such. The only selective fire Canadian FN that I was aware of was the FN C2. Thx.
Basically it was a standard C1 with the unique fire control parts of a C2. The only marking to show it was a C1A1D was the large A marked on the butt. They were meant for the Navy, for use on boarding parties.

A C2A1 was hard to control the accuracy on full auto...I could just imagine how awful the C1A1D would have been.

if you are talking about modern firearms, the list goes basically like this:

Every Navy officer and enlisted man qualifies on the C7A1 and the Inglis Hi-Power, though most people call it "the Browning". That is reality. The order of issue on vessels is a fair bit different though.

Generally, on ship, the main concern is boarding parties and "force protection" which if fancy talk for either guard duty or repelling boarders.

Generally, the C7 can be issued, but it is often more common to encounter the SigP225 if I recall these days. Boarding parties sometimes also get a variant of the C8 carbine. The Browning is more of an ARMY thing - the Navy guys usually get the SIG lately. They also issue the Remington 870P.

Submariners get issued the MP5(N) generally as it is compact for storage reasons, and it is also sometimes part of the Naval Boarding Party kit.

Todays RCN's small arms onboard ships.

C7
C8
C9
Mp5
Rem 870
M2 Browning
Sig Sauer pistols (cant remember which model).
C7 Linethrower (orange painted furniture).

The Air detachment may bring on a C6 for their Helo.

I can just picture some swabbie loosing his balance as the boat bobbed up and down on the swells and letting off a mag full auto... "don't get into the boat." :p (apologies to chef from Apocalypse Now).
