Don't you mean what first to buy?

Congrats on passing your exam, but I'm afraid you've probably just made the worst financial mistake of your life. You may think right now you can live with one... but I've yet to see that happen. They will muliply in an almost exponential way.

You'll start out with one cheap little gun safe, and soon you'll need another, then another. Then you'll sell them in order to replace them with a great big gun safe. At night, you'll be dreaming of having a walk-in gun safe en-suite to your man cave and reloading area.

Good luck with it.

hehehhe - I am worried that you are already right :D
Actually already did some shopping in the last 30 days getting a nice Excalibour crossbow, and Beretta Urika II shootgun.
Also have the Browning safe waiting to show up in next 3-4 weeks....
I guess it could have been much worse for my bank account

Jocking aside, I was waiting to take care of some more important thinks in life before I spend some $$$ on this hobby and finally I am able to treat myself with some nice toys.

Oh dear time to make you cry. Noticed you were from the GTA too....I just took my test and passed both on the last week of march. Guessing you haven't heard of the 7+ week backlog at the CFO Ontario's office? Yessirrr, we are waiting. Hope you did what I did and sent the application in before the exam confirmation. Either way, moi+tu are in a boat waiting for timeeeee. Join Silverdale if you haven't joined a range yet, much cheaper than the rest, way bigger and its outdoors +the staff are phenomenal (and there is a LANZ shooting supply store on grounds for rentals, ammunition, etc)

Add another to the list. I passed my PAL/RPAL a few weeks ago. My aaplication just arrived in NB and as soon as I get my course results I plan to hassle them daily to ensure my application gets processed in a timely fashion.

It might be a jackass thing to do but never under-estimate the power of annoyance to people moving.

I think we need to petition for mandatory minimum processing times if they want to continue enforcing so much bureaucratic process for owning a gun. If I miss the summer shooting season im going to be pissed.

They've had my application since the 3rd week of February. Called last week, and the woman who is handling my app. was off for the week. This is getting crazy:mad:

FYI - The people who took their CFSC/CRFSC with me on March 5/6 (results Expressposted to CFO on March 7) started getting their results in the last couple of days.

The best thing to do... for now is go to the range and try different calibers and see what your comfortable with. As you progress, you'll see that the answer will come by itself.
