Hello everyone.
I had my Pal already and I just did my Rpal recently. My question is do I have to wait that 28 days again what I did when I wating for my Pal?

Thanks Jozsef

My understanding is that if you're renewing a PAL or going from a POL to a PAL then there is no waiting period. But I'm doing my CRFSC this Sunday and am curious as well if I will need to wait the 28 days before my application is processed since I can't find much on the PAL to RPAL process. I only just renewed my PAL a couple months ago, too...

Note form CAFC 979 is for renewals only. You must use form CAFC 921 to upgrade from PAl to RPAL. Major differences is the references which normally are not called for most PALs but are for all RPALs.

So that will add time.. however since you already have a PAL the 28 days does not apply.

Jnyiri,

I just did this myself (PAL to RPAL upgrade)...and there is definitely no 28 day waiting period if you are upgrading.

They received my upgrade application on Aug 3...it was approved on Aug 13...and I physically got my RPAL card in the mail by Aug 23...so the whole process took only 20 days to get the card.

Another question about upgrading from PAL -> RPAL in Ontario. Upon passing the RPAL written/practical exam, can you submit your application right away or do you have to wait to get the "safety report" back with the blue CFO stamp? - usually another 1-2 week wait.

it can be submitted right away even if not upgrading.

Yes, absolutely I submitted mine right after I completed the course and did not wait for the report. Just call a few days after they receive your application and ask for the fax number that you can send in your course report to. When you get the report just fax it in. Will save a fair bit of time.

What no. did you call to get the fax no. ?? I still have to call in for mine, but I was waiting for the stamped results to come back to me first. Hope they didn't throw my application away yet LOL....

I just called the central number 1-800-731-4000 and went thru the menu options to speak to an agent about my application status. I then told the agent that I submitted my application without the course report, and told her I needed to fax in my report. She then gave me the number. Sorry I can't seem to find/recall what the fax number itself was.
