RPAL upgrade

I was at the sportsman's show yesterday, and talked to a guy at the Canadian Firearms booth. I had got my RPAL results back in the mail the same day, so I asked what forms I'd need to upgrade, etc.

He gave me his extension, and said I should call him on Monday... That I'd just fax him my results and he'd upgrade my PAL the same day. Is this something that can be done normally, or am I getting some special treatment here?

I've only heard of one other guy being able to fax their results in for an upgrade, so I think you're getting special treatment. If you call the RCMP / CFC they'll likely tell you that it's a new application that requires a new photo, references, etc. Hopefully it all works out for you and you get it upgraded right away.

The PAL-RPAL upgrade took me exactly 4 weeks just recently. I had to mail in the application, photo, references, etc. My references got the calls from CFC on the second week, I got the call on the third week.
I'd say, make sure you call and fax on Monday because you ARE getting some special treatment there.
