Hey all,

Mailed my app. at the end of may, called today for the second time(first was 2 weeks ago), told to call back in another 2 weeks. I was told everything is in order and there is no missing info.

Wow, by the time me and my references make with the interviews, and the paperwork gets processed, and sent to CFO, then finally gets sent to me it'll probably be christmas. Unbelievable.

Patience is a virtue, I guess, just not feelin it.

RM

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

I took me 100 days for my RPAL from mailed out to in my hands & I went down to the CFO, which is 10 min from me (BC CFO), at day 90 to say... hey whats up? and then they approved me on the spot and mailed it out that week.

Its a crappy process and there is no rhyme or reason, Keep calling and if your CFO is near by or you can actually get their number and not NB you might speed things up

Good luck

What province you in? BC?

I heard a lot of the stories lately for both new apps and renewals, so I sent renewal in 5 months early.

Sent app in June 20th.

They recieved it June 24th

Appeared online as inital processing complete July 16th.

Message changed to licence has been issued July 22nd.

No calls to the CFC/CFO on my part.

Ontario, what burocracy. I had to wait 2 months just to get into the courses, then wait for my course reports to come back, another 5 weeks. I'm in no rush but they're red taping us to death.

If you want to speed it up, get your application reference number and have your references call in to do their interviews, takes all of 5 min on the phone, and apparently cuts weeks off the processing time. On top of that, your references get to call on their own time rather than getting woken up after night shift or playing phone tag etc.

there is a post dedicated exclusively to PAL and RPAL waiting times in this forum...why opening a new thread?

yep get your number...have your references call in to do interview...then wait a bit.

I had to wait 3 months....finally I called and asked to speak to a supervisor because they said it was....on the firearm inspectors desk.....well not for 2 months it should not sit.

spoke with someone back on the east coast and another Sask Firearm inspector called me the very next day...asked a couple of questions and was done....received in the mail 8days. note if you do answer yes to any of the questions they ask...ie. criminal record, assault, etc...this will delay a bit.

Good idea, one thing we did with my son when he turned 18 was to get his references and him in a room and we called all at once. This way you know what was said and when it was done.

Mine took about 3 months, be patient young Jedi good things come to all who wait.

Do they contact for interviews both references on every application?

On mine, yes both were called.

But I've also heard of cases where just one was called and others where neither were.

I had mine in my hand in 46 days.
Not to bad, and I didn't make any calls.

Got mine in about 35 days.

Hey,

1 I do not have any sort of criminal record, had an F.A.C about 12 years ago that expired, also have a valid hunting licence. Thanks, may have to speak to a stupidadvisor from the RCMP.

2 That's a great idea.

3 Should I use the force? (Just kiddin)

4 I believe so particularly for restricted.

5 Told you number 4.

6 Lucky bastards.

7 Lucky bastard.

8 Lucky bastard.

Thanks for the feedback all, will keep you's posted on the on going saga.
