I am looking at getting my first black rifle and like the Rock River Arms stuff. I like to look of their new LAR Pistols, which are shortened AR's with 7.5" or 10.5" barrels.

My questions is does anyone know if they will mount a regular AR 4 or 6 position telescoping buttstock. I assume they do not come with it or have it as an option on thier web site because they sell it as a pistol to get around the less than 16" barrel exportation ban.

I would have e-mailed Questar but they have just recieved a huge shipment and are not taking phone calls or answering e-mails for awhile.

PS. Had anyone heard anything more on the Sig 556 and if it is going to be imported or not?

Thanx in advance.

In theory, the US made AR pistols have to have been altered so they can't take a stock, otherwise they would be NFA items down south. That being said, I'm sure that with some time and study, it can be done.

Easy fix: Step 1: Buy the pistol upper. Step 2: Buy a complete rifle lower. Step 3: Mate upper and lower. Step 4: have your new shorty verified as a complete rifle. Step 5: Enjoy and post pics!!

Sure. Bring that blast closer to your face.

So the pistol uppers are compatible with standard AR lowers then? For sure?

I like the look of 11.5" barrel, is it easier to get a lower and upper (10.5") and assemble together or buy a standrad AR with 16" barrel and get it cut down to 11.5".

Yup... look closely in the RRA website... it says "For pistol and SBR applications only, all NFA rules apply." SBR = Short Barrel Rifle = $200 tax stamp stateside, so that's the one of the main things that holds people back from a shorty... in order to be on an SBR, it has to fit a rifle lower right?
