I just noticed a small rub mark about the size of half my baby finger nail on my new browning A-bolt. Must have happened during moose season 2 weeks ago as there was 3 guys and 2 guns in the front seat of the truck. What can I do to fix this? Its not clean down to the metel so the mark is silver but it is noticable compared to the rest of the barrel.

gun cases work well, as does not road hunting

try a rebluing kit, unless your browning has that matte finish (composite stalker)

Its called wear and tear. You could probably touch it up, or just leave it and accept that a used rifle is likely to show signs of use.

Call it a character mark from your moose hunt. If you didnt think your rifle may get scratched or rubbed against things, you should of got a different one that wasnt so pretty.

I use a silicon cloth and wipe the barrel and stock down all the time. You may be able to rub out the blemish with the silicon cloth, if not its there for life, unless you get the barrel buffed and polished, then its really shiney.

congrats it is now an official hunting rifle, the second ding is easier to deal with then the third and the.................before you know it you can recognize yours in a rack full of others that used to look the same. It also fits into the category of customs at this point.....oh the perks of a little scratch:evil:
