Rugar scout aftermarket stock and powdercoat

So i bought this with the powdercoat already on and the rugar aftermarket stock on. It apparently took a bit of pro machining to fit perfectly which it does.

What scope and rings did you end up getting? How does it shoot?

What would you do differently if you were starting over, and wanted a scout rifle?

I am a fan of the gun but I just can not get by with the scout scope ,When mine comes in it will wear a luppy in the rugger rings ,other whys I really like the stock and coating ,how does she shoot ,,Dutch

Ive only shot it with the iron sights so far, which was fine, but im looking forward to sighting in the scout scope.

Just pointing at distant objects at home i can already tell this is amazing. Deer are fast later in the season when they clue in they must have P.O. Someone, and everyone is shooting at them. The quick aquire aspect will really play well, as the target portion is optically blown up when one is still looking at the object with both eyes open.

I was going to go with a standard scope, but even as i just handle it now, im glad i went scout scope.

I got burris rings on the rail.

To do it over again i would Likely be doing it wrong, as the guy who set this up obviously thought this through with the ss bore, then powder coated. This gun is meant for the field, and will defiantly not be a locker princess.

Im actually starting to believe it was a custom job made from a ruger tan stock. At first i thought the aftermarket stock was from Ruger, but they don't sell these that i can see. It has the Ruger stamp though.

Only took 5 rounds to get within a loonie to sight up on paper. Then 10 more to properly dial in. Im pretty happy with the scout scope concept, but it shouldnt be more than 4x in the field i think.

I'm a fan of the scout rifle concept, although I think that the standard Ruger Scout is just about the ugliest thing I have ever seen...but this specimen looks great. Nice paint job.
