I know that this is hot necessarily a tack driver of a rifle or cartridge, but what is acceptable accuracy for this combo. I will have a Leupold 1.5-5 mounted on it. I would hope that it shoots in the 1.5 moa range. Also can I expect acceptable accuracy if I shoot 458 win mag ammo through it. I know recoil will be a factor, but I think I can handle it. Thanks Rod

Yikes, ya gotta be a sawed off brave man to shoulder that one! We had one, just cuz it was a Ruger No.1, was bought for the collection. Each dude was offered a shot when we got home, only a few took the offer, I did, one was enough for me! I watched the other's that were brave enough, some turned their head, some didn't twitch! It has it's place somewhere in this world, but not for me in this country or in my life time!

HaHa. That's funny. I will try the full power Lott loads just to say that I did. But I will be loading it down to a more tolerable level. I have no real use for it until I get back into moose hunting in a couple more years (if I still have it then). But I mostly got it because I have always wanted a #1 and this was different.

I just got a No. 1 in .300 H&H this spring. With minimal load development it's grouping under an inch at 100. No. 1s are not a inaccurate rifle.

Well I shot my 458 Lott for the first time today. I shot 2 rounds standing offhand, and 4 rounds off the bench. The recoil actually wasn't that bad. But I definitely noticed more recoil when shooting it from the bench. Today was just for fun. I still need to sight it in.
