Gday,

friend of mine sent me an email if I could post on here to see if anyone is up for this project of his. He's looking for a smith to fit a 1.5inch barrel to a ruger number one in 577 nitro. It's been done but the people that have are in the states. Anyone in canada able to do this?
He said the local smith has never worked with anything that big so he's looking for alternatives.

PM me and I'll get him to contact you.

Thanks

"...1.5inch barrel..." Typo right? Your buddy doesn't really want a 15" .577 Nitro does he? Is he thinking the 2.75" or 3" .577 Nitro? Or are you talking a 1.5" diameter barrel? That'd weigh a ton. Still, contact Epp's.
The .577 Nitro is a mucho expensive cartridge to shoot. The dies alone are worth $169.05US. Three inch brass runs $70US per 10 to $85US per 20.

I think he meant diameter of 1.5". Check with Cassul, he is building a .577 NE on a different single shot action. He has lots of first hand experience. I am not sure a #1 is a good choice, as the .577 is a beast. A .500 3" or a .500 Jeffery will work, and I know of one of the latter for sale.
