My Ruger #1 is cerkoted as well. It was a pretty rough looking rifle when I started.
Action has been cerakoted but I put on a stainless barrel.

Double abomination.

Haha. I'm with ya I'm thinking the flat black cerakote should be good. A lot more weather resistant as well which is what I was after.

Hey, Cerikote is an idea. I have a “beater finish” #1 in 375 H&H AI. Will be hunting the wet coast soon. Wood is rough too, have to think about a “lots of rain” solution there too.

Sounds more like a potential case of dickdropoffitis. Better grab yours and give it a couple good yanks to make sure it's still attached.
