Ruger # 1

Call the Ruger Warranty provider for Canada. They will sell you a rear stock, if they have one on hand.

I would provide a contact number but I don't know who is presently taking care of the Ruger Warrantees.

I have an old contact for a Canadian warranty company from the east coast but I never thought of contacting them.

Thanks to those that replied, seems like it’s a hard thing to find. Referring to the rear stock.
Yes, the rear stock for a Ruger No.1 can be difficult to source.
I tried Snap Shots, but I do not speak French and ran out of patients.
Give them a call and have the serial number ready ...
If I recall they wanted me to send the gun so they could re-fit the inlet ...
Thats what I remember in my limited dealing with them.
Oh and the butt stock was iirc $600.00 5 years ago.
Rob.

Ya that was the same thing I went through when I was looking for one. They wouldn't outright sell to me, I would have to send the rifle in...

Haven't looked at the Brownell's catalog lately, but at one time they sold a synthetic stock set for the #1 rifles. Called MPI or something similar?

There's a very good reason they want you to send them the rifle or receiver to fit the rear stock. They don't always fit the way they're supposed to and will crack down the center of the wrist, if they aren't "tightly fit."

I usually glass bed the area they want to fit, even if it "feels good" at first. It only takes half an hour to sand away a bit of wood and add the glass bedding around the tangs and other contact points.

I have a very nicely figured, 90% buttstock, no checkering or final finish, inletting if you're interested. PM me

Much cheaper option, but will require some tedious work on your part to fit and finish.

glass bedding the rear stock is unnesseary and usually turns out ugly
i have been working in gun shops since 1977 and never seen a cracked no 1 butt stock do not over tighten
i have seen broken ones
