Anyone ever tried to do a Ruger 10/17 build??
I love the 17HMR caliber and i'm just looking for input into what's required to pull this off with a 10/22 base rifle?

I have done a 10/22 LR-----> to a 10/22 in 22magnum conversion with success . It required a 22mag barrel , cutting the mag well on the 10/22 recever to fit the bigger 22mag Magazine , setting the trigger group back in the recever , modding the stock to fit the changes etc........Did it work ? you bet it did ,would I do it again ? Nope .

What was the $$$ expended, in the end? ..........:)

Did you have to do anything with the stock bolt?

Really the only extra cost was buying a 10/22 Magnum magazine and finding a used 10/22magnum barrel. At the time factory 10/22 magnum barrels were easy to come by and cheap because the 10/22 magnum was in production at the time , I had six barrels sent up to me from the states for the cost of shipping .

Nope all was the same , I did post it up on rimfire central Pic by Pic , But was back about 7 years ago , I followed the "CheifDave" method and modified it .

In the end it went bac to a regular 10/22 and I ended up buying a couple 10/22 magnums
