Anyone got experience with the Ruger BX 10/22 upgrade trigger?

It's a fraction of the cost of a high end trigger, but is it worth the cost?
 
I just got one. Now mind you I've only dry fired it so far but! I will say that it is a significant improvement over the factory trigger. My factory trigger was particularly gritty and heavy so theres that. The bx is smooth but it's not a short as I was expecting. Believe me when I say it was worth it but I know that with knowledge and lapping stones you can get the same out of the factory trigger.

So it's not "glass rod" like but I would describe it almost like a light and comparatively short 2 stage trigger almost
 
My experience is exactly like Kuzuba described above.

The BX-25 trigger group is a significant improvement over the factory trigger & 'drop in'.

I got mine in the clearance bin @ Cabelas, it was missing a pin which I simply made once I got it home. Smoking Deal!

What about the after market bolt release? My wife finds the factory unit a pita to operate.
 
the bx trigger as others said is a lot better than factory but I just replaced a stock trigger hammer and trigger part from volkwartsen and its even better at a lower cost, its just not dropin but easy enough.
 
For what its worth, if you're balking at the price, the KIDD single-stage is possibly the best trigger I have ever used period. Whether it's worth it or not for a .22 is debatable.
 
No doubt the Kidd, Volquartson, Jard are better than the BX, but they are also a heck of a price. I had a Jard, it was good until it crapped out, then it was worthless.Installed a BX in my SR-22 and it was the best $ spent. Not perfect but pretty good. I went to Cabelas and they had 6 of them on the rack so I played with them all and chose what I thought to be the best one. Greatly reduced weight, no over-travel and just a hint of creep. Thousands of rounds later still running perfect.
 
Just completed the bolt lock mod as per the You Tube video ..... Works like a charm! Used a Dremel and finished up with needle files and emery.

The simplicity and engineering genius of Ruger firearms has always impressed me. Mine is an older model dating from the early 80's with very low mileage.

As for the trigger, I hate fixin' what ain't broke. The trigger on mine feels about 4 lbs with '0' creep or over travel. I've tolerated worse triggers on many firearms costing much more than a Ruger 10/22 over the years.
 
More trouble and expense than I want to commit for what I regard as a fun plinker.

Eventually I may consider a factory set up competition model 10/22 if we get that level of shooting around here.
